MICHAEL D. OTT, Managing Partner

Mike is the Managing Partner of the Fresno and Bakersfield offices and Co-Chair of the firm's Professional Liability practice group.  

Over the course of his 33-year career, Mike has tried more than twenty-five matters to jury verdict in Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Kern, Lake, and San Diego counties. He has also tried cases to verdict in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, and in the District of Oregon. He has also served as an arbitrator for the Fresno and Madera Superior Courts and has been appointed as a discovery referee by that Court. He also has extensive experience mediating cases. 

Mike's practice includes state court and federal court litigation involving a wide range of professional liability cases, including healthcare professionals of all types, public entity liability, products liability, premises liability, construction litigation, transportation and trucking litigation, business contract disputes, trade secret litigation, risk avoidance, unfair business practices litigation, and employment law, including wrongful termination matters. He has experience in employment discrimination litigation and ADA litigation. Mike also handles appellate matters in all state and federal courts.

Prior to joining the firm in 1996, Mike served as chief trial counsel for a major insurance company and was in private practice. For five years, he was County Counsel for Madera County, and served as a law clerk for a federal judge in the Central District of California.
