VON RYAN REYES, Partner
Von joined the San Jose office of Ericksen Arbuthnot in 2000, and is a shareholder in the firm. He is a Co-Chair of the Construction practice group. His practice focuses on construction litigation, specializing in the defense of developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in construction defect claims and mold exposure litigation arising from construction of single family homes, condominiums or other multi-dwelling properties, and commercial properties.
His practice also includes defending home inspectors, and real estate agents and brokers in professional liability, and real estate litigation. Von has defended attorneys in legal malpractice claims involving business transactions and estate administration. He has successfully argued summary judgment motions in legal malpractice claims on behalf of his attorney clients.
Additionally, Von counsels and assists small business clients on commercial transactions, lease negotiations, and formation of business entities.
Von has trial and appellate experience in the fields of real estate, commercial landlord and tenant disputes, and construction defect cases. He has represented his clients in mediations, as well as arbitrations, both binding and non-binding. He has tried a number of cases resulting in defense verdicts.
Von lives in San Jose with his wife and three children. His interests include golf, rowing, travel, and experimenting with marinades and dry rubs for grilling and barbecues.
