Ellen Kamon is Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Ericksen Arbuthnot. For more than 25 years, Ellen has represented a wide variety of healthcare professionals and facilities in both the medical malpractice and employment arenas.
Ellen has had great success in representing hospitals in obtaining reimbursement for services provided to patients. She also has expertise in representing insurers in life, health, disability, and ERISA matters. She has also successfully litigated bad faith cases for insurers and their agents.
Ellen also represented a national insurance company in the renowned Potvin matter (a reported California Supreme Court case) to determine when a hearing is required to exclude or terminate an independent contractor physician from an insurance provider network.
Ellen is admitted to practice before all California courts, as well as before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eastern District of California, the Northern District of California, United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. Ellen has a per review rating of “AV” with Martindale Hubbell, the highest possible rating. She was also identified as a Super Lawyer for 2009 -2016, as published in the Southern California Super Lawyer Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine.
Ellen received her BA and MA at University of California, Los Angeles, and is a graduate of San Fernando Valley College of Law. Ellen has been practicing law in the State of California since being admitted to the State Bar in 1982.
